Meanwhile, the U.S. is edging closer to calling for an end to the long rule of the Assad family in Syria.
Obama administration officials said the first step would be to declare for the first time that President Bashar Assad has forfeited his legitimacy to rule.
That would be a shift from U.S. statements that demanded that Assad stop a brutal crackdown on peaceful protesters. Those stopped short of saying he had to go.
Tanks and troops have rolled into southern villages near the heart of Syria’s anti-government uprising, and activists said the regime isolated parts of the country.
The military has been sealing off various areas of Syria and conducting house-to-house raids in searches for people whose names are on wanted lists. Many people fled cities and towns for fear of being detained by the Assad regime.
An Egyptian court convicted the country’s former tourism minister of corruption and sentenced him to five years in prison.
He is the second high-ranking official of ex-President Hosni Mubarak’s regime to be convicted of corruption since Mubarak’s Feb. 11 ouster.
Also, the latest figures show inflation in Egypt running above 12% annually and food prices jumping 20%. Both are issues that helped ignite the popular revolution.
NATO warplanes struck a command center in the capital, Tripoli, after pounding regime targets around the besieged port of Misrata.
Rebels hope the stepped-up attacks could help extend some of their biggest advances to date, including a major outward push from Misrata.
The opposition also says it made gains along a long-deadlocked front near Ajdabiya. Moammar Gadhafi, Libya’s autocratic ruler since 1969, has not been seen in public since one of his sons was killed in a NATO air strike April 30.
A NATO official, Italian Brig. Gen. Claudio Gabellini, said the alliance had no evidence to indicate whether Gadhafi is alive or dead.
Yemen stopped producing oil because of internal strife, plunging a nation that already is the Arab world’s poorest into further economic decline as pressure builds on longtime President Ali Abdullah Saleh to step down.
Opponents of the regime, including powerful tribes, appear to be using the oil weapon to press their demand for Saleh’s resignation.
This and more is on the horizon. The earth itself is now the biggest threat to all life on this planet.
Looking at mankind, knowing it is out of harmony, how can anyone expect the home they live upon to be within harmony? The misuse of this planet’s resources by mankind, and the total disregard for it being a natural recycling creation, and the involvement of the LOZ to rectify creation through the use of violence, it all adds doom to its inhabitants – including the animal kingdom, sea life, and insect populations. Yahweh is performing a two-fold process. She is cleansing the earth, and She is altering it in preparation for making it the jewel it once was. Yahweh’s land (She owns everything in creation) has become polluted, and Her temple of worship has become defiled with falsehoods. A pattern was set long ago:
2 Chronicles 34:8 “[ Josiah's Repair of the Temple ] In the eighteenth year of his reign, in order to cleanse the land and the temple, Josiah sent Shaphan son of Azaliah, along with Maaseiah the governor of the city and the recorder Joah son of Joahaz, to repair the temple of the LORD his God.”
First Yahweh CLEANSES. Then She repairs what is wrong by making it conform to Her LAWS that bring harmony to the land ( the earth) and all of creation as a whole.
Proverbs 20:30 “Lashes and wounds purge away evil, and beatings cleanse the innermost parts.”
Libya erupted into violence last night after Muammar Qaddafi’s son threatened “rivers of blood” and deployed security forces on protesters, some of whom claimed control of the second-biggest city, Benghazi.
At least 250 people died in Tripoli alone, al-Jazeera reported, citing witnesses. Troops attacked “terror” hideouts and urged citizens to fight back the “organized gangs that are destroying Libya,” state television said. Amid the violence were signs that some officials and troops were deserting.
Oil surged to the highest in more than two years. Libya, holder of Africa’s largest oil reserves, is the latest country in the region to be rocked by protests ignited by last month’s ouster of Tunisia’s president and energized by the Feb. 11 fall of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Violence has flared in Yemen, Djibouti, Iran and Bahrain as governments cracked down on demands for change.
“This is not a regime that will compromise,” said Dirk J. Vandewalle, author of “A History of Modern Libya” and an associate professor of government at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. “Whichever way this goes, we can expect a good amount of chaos and bloodshed.”
Yahweh is tired of the violence on this planet, just as She was in the pre-flood era. Gauging the violence is what has caused the LOZ to surround this planet. Satan says he wants peace in his kingdom, but cannot control his family. Yahweh can and will bring peace and harmony to Her creation. Those that murder as evidenced in Somali. they will be torn away from the earth. because Yahweh can no longer tolerate the disregard for life and the contempt for Her Word. Time is up for the treacherous, they just don’t see what is staring them in the face, but they soon will as the LOZ takes a firm stand against those that murder and those that boast in their evil ways. Yahweh has become Active in this spiritual war. May She have mercy on those that are caught in the wake of Her anger.
Yahweh has again become Active in Her own fiery anger:
Exodus 19:18 ‘Mount Sinai was completely enveloped in smoke because the LORD came down on it in fire. Its smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain shook violently.”
The violence worldwide is escalating. All things are falling into place, and Satan cannot alter what is about to take place by using violence to correct his own misguidance. The violence will come from Yahweh’s side of the board.
The remnant can trust in this:
Psalm 18:48 “He frees me from my enemies. You exalt me above my adversaries; You rescue me from violent men.”
The fate of that region will soon be this as an example to the rest of this wicked violent world:
Ezekiel 28:8 “They will bring you down to the Pit, and you will die a violent death in the heart of the sea.”
