More stores across the U.S. that offer deeply-discounted products are seeing their sales decline after years of growth amid America’s “Great Recession” — and one analyst said on Monday it’s another sign of even deeper downturn.
While the demand at stores like the 99-Cent Store or Dollar Tree is still relatively high, the biggest chains in the nation have fallen short of Wall Street’s expectations for several months, a trend that may prove even more ominous for the economy at large.
“I think what’s going on in those stores is that we are in a depression for 80 percent of Americans,” top retail analyst Howard Davidowitz told KNX 1070.
America’s three largest discount chains — Dollar General Corp., Family Dollar Stores Inc. and Dollar Tree Inc. — all recently missed their quarterly earnings targets.
Davidowitz pointed to the weakness of the dollar and a gloomy consumer outlook as some of the factors behind the stores’ slump.
“In those stores, somebody comes in with $12 to do all their shopping,” said Davidowitz. “The person who used to come in with $12 now comes in with $8.”
“In other words, the economy is continuing to be worse, the Obama depression continues to explode,” he added.

#2 Over the past year, the global price of food has risen by 37 percent.
#3 Just about every major agricultural commodity has been skyrocketing in price. Check out what a recent Bloomberg article had to say about what has been happening to many key agricultural commodities over the past year….
Corn futures advanced 77 percent in the past 12 months in Chicago trading, a global benchmark, rice gained 39 percent and sugar jumped 64 percent. There will be shortages in corn, wheat, soybeans, coffee and cocoa this year or next, according to Utrecht, Netherlands-based Rabobank Groep. Prices also rose after droughts and floods from Australia to Canada ruined crops last year. European farmers are now contending with their driest growing season in more than three decades.
#4 According to the World Bank, 44 million more people around the globe have been pushed into extreme poverty since last June because of rising food prices.
#5 Sadly, rising food prices is not a new trend. According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, the global price of food has gone up by 240% since 2004.
#6 To a large extent, this global food crisis has been brought on by the greed of the wealthy. A study by the World Institute for Development Economics Research discovered that the bottom half of the world population owns approximately 1 percent of all global wealth.
#7 The average income per person in the poorest countries on the continent of Africa has fallen by one-fourth over the past twenty years.
#8 It is estimated that over 80 percent of the world’s population lives in countries where the income gap between the rich and the poor is widening.
#9 Approximately 1 billion people throughout the world go to bed hungry every single night.
#10 Every 3.6 seconds someone starves to death and three-quarters of them are children under the age of 5.
#11 It is estimated that the entire continent of Africa only owns approximately 1 percent of the total wealth of the world.
#12 According to the most recent “Global Wealth Report” by Credit Suisse, the wealthiest 0.5% of the global population controls over 35% of all the wealth on the planet.
Those of us that live in wealthy countries have it really good.
We get to shovel huge amounts of food into our faces whenever we want.
But eventually things are going to change for us as well.
Symbolic perhaps of Yahweh’s pulling back Her spirit and the providing of nourishment and healthful guidance to evil mankind? A turbulent time for the nations that do not accept Her offer of Mercy.

The price of sugar rose by 14% last month, as a result of high demand and lower production in Brazil.
The FAO’s food price index reached 234 points in June, close to February’s record level of 239.
The sugar price rise fuelled most of the increase, cancelling out falls in prices of wheat, corn and soya.
The FAO’s measure looks at a range of essential foods, including cereals, oilseeds, dairy, meat and sugar.
High food prices – particularly those of wheat, rice and corn – have sparked civil unrest in a range of countries where people rely on them for the bulk of their food intake.
They were one of the factors that drove people on to the streets of Arab countries earlier this year.
A global food crisis in 2008 also triggered mass protests, including riots in some developing countries.
World cereal output is forecast by the FAO to be 3.3% higher in 2011-12 than in the year before.
The agency’s most recent bi-annual Food Outlook said that spiralling demand meant that global food prices would remain high and volatile throughout this year and into next despite record food production.
The very water, the foods, and each breath of air you each consume on a daily basis is impure in Father’s eyes. This is because the entire world has become impure with the imprint Dawn Lucifer Satan the Devil has placed upon Father’s works brought forth by Michael the Archangel from olden times. Because of this branding of Satan’s imprint upon the creation he coveted without rightful ownership, it must all be destroyed. This world is not only beyond mankind’s and Dawn Lucifer’s repair, it is also like a person with terminal cancer. The dying process of what is upon this planet earth cannot be halted. The earth itself will endure forever, but everything upon and within this planet is slated for destruction.
Group of 20 farm ministers are in Paris for the second day of a summit. France, which holds the G-20 presidency, wants a central database on crops, limits on export bans, international market regulation, emergency stockpiles and a plan to raise global output. The proposals to limit export curbs and start a database will be “especially sensitive,” French Agriculture Minister Bruno Le Maire said last week.
Wheat as much as doubled in the past year as Russia and Ukraine curbed exports after drought decimated crops, adding to record global food prices the World Bank says put 44 million more people into poverty since June. Nations will spend $1.29 trillion on food imports this year, the most ever and 21 percent more than in 2010, the United Nations estimates.
“Volatility is a plague on farmers and consumers,” Sarkozy said in a speech to the ministers yesterday. “It can plunge entire populations into famine and poverty.”
A lack of transparency in agricultural markets is exacerbating price swings, threatening economic recovery and food production, Sarkozy said.
“We have to act, and act together,” the president said. “The world is watching you.”
Plagues come in many forms and many of them are overlooked. But just as in the days of Moses, they are occurring.
Numbers 11:4 [ Complaints about Food ] Contemptible people among them had a strong craving [for other food]. The Israelites cried again and said, “Who will feed us meat?
Angel Gurría, secretary-general of the OECD, said that any further increase in global food prices, which have risen by 40% over the past year, will have a “devastating” impact on the world’s poor and is likely to lead to political unrest, famine and starvation. “People are going to be forced either to eat less or find other sources of income.”
The joint UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and OECD report predicted that the cost of cereals is likely to increase by 20% and the price of meat, particularly chicken, may soar by up to 30%.
World food prices are already at a near-record high as droughts and floods threaten to seriously damage this year’s harvest. The report said the global harvest is in a “critical” condition and warned that prices will continue to rise until depleted stocks are rebuilt.
Global food prices hit a record high in February, prompting demonstrations across the world. The last extreme food price rise in 2008 led to riots in 20 countries across three continents.
Gurría called on world leaders to ban speculators from pushing up food prices. The G20 will meet in Paris next week to thrash out a deal aimed at imposing strict rules on trading in food commodities and policies that distort global food market.
French president Nicolas Sarkozy has repeatedly attacked hedge funds and specialised financial institutions for pushing up food prices. “Speculation, panic and lack of transparency have seen prices soaring,” he said. “Is that the world we want? France is saying quite clearly it is not.”
He compared the lack of regulation on food price speculators to lax regulation that drove financial markets to the “edge of the abyss” during the 2008 financial crisis.
Yahweh’s Sovereign Rule, or Satan’s dying empire? The hour glass is running out of sand, and the hour is late, because you are all living in the symbolic last hour spoken of in the Word. Look at what is happening around you in this wicked world. Don’t turn a blind eye to all of it. Then make your decision.
Satan receives a symbolic last hour to make his stand. That hour began when the LOZ arrived to bring great tribulation with the bowls of anger. Satan is resisting making his stand, but he will be forced to follow through. Due to the earth’s circumstances, food will become scarce, and you will not be able to purchase anything without his mark. But that mark will not doom you – only your heart condition can do that.
Learn to SEE and read the SIGNS of the LOZ’s casts. These ministers were taught early on in their ministry to read spiritual casts so that like Christ in his last hour, they too would be strengthened in this last hour of Satan’s corrupt world.
The Food Price Index, which monitors average monthly price changes for a variety of key staples, rose to 236 points in February from 231 points in January, the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said.
It was the highest level since FAO began monitoring prices in 1990.
“Unexpected oil price spikes could further exacerbate an already precarious situation in food markets,” David Hallam, director of the Rome-based FAO’s trade and market division, said.
“This adds even more uncertainty concerning the price outlook just as plantings for crops in some of the major growing regions are about to start.”
Crude prices pushed higher Thursday amid fighting in oil-rich Libya. New York’s main contract, light sweet crude oil for April delivery, rose to $102.56 and Brent North Sea crude for April was up at $116.65.
“Persistent uncertainty in the region continues to support fears of contagion,” British bank Barclays Capital said in a report.
“Lost output from countries like Libya and the increasing likelihood of a pushback in foreign investment is set to support longer-term prices,” it said.
The International Energy Agency said oil exports from Libya had been cut by between 850,000 and one million barrels per day, out of a total of 1.6 million barrels sent mostly to European buyers before the uprising.
Satan wants his empire to flourish and be like Yahweh’s spirit realm and the rest of creation in the expanse, but the way he leads, and the factions within his family, it cannot be achieved. Everything you have read or seen about Satan and his demons in this world, it is all fictitious.
Even so, Satan does have factions within his spiritual family of follower. They too cause problems for him and mankind, but, Satan’s goal is to resemble Yahweh in all things, including a realm that is run by laws. The United States is what Satan envisioned for the entire world. He hates to let go and give up that vision.
But Yahweh says this country cannot stand for much longer. It is yet another stripping of Satan’s valuables that he loves and wants to continue to hold as a prized possession. The USA is like his first born Son. He spent much time in bringing it to life. It followed his own rebellion from a Royal Crown. Not wanting to pay his taxes to Mother Israel.
The USA wanting out from under England’s tax. Satan inspiring his original position as a bringer of light to mankind to serve as its governor and to enlighten under Yahweh’s Way, before he went off course and thereby went sour.
But still, he held on to that vision though twisted, and the statue of Liberty represents his own liberty from Yahweh’s Royal Crown. And with the knowledge he took with him from the heavens, he passed the power he passed on to mankind. Everything mankind has achieved, it can be traced back to the heavens, in bith the spirit realm and the visible realm, because in truth, they are the same. They are interchangeable with one another. You are robbed of the ability to go in and out of both realms, just as Christ was able to do after his reanimation.
That is the TRUTH. Yahweh offers much through Christ, but Satan is only offering a cheap copy of the other side that lack the benefit package that comes with Christ’s Rule.
Before this year ends the United States will declare marshal law. They are already preparing for what they know cannot be avoided. The roaring of the people of other nations is the model that will span the globe as all countries feeling the crunch of these economic times feels the pangs of distress from the rippling waves of its discontented citizens. The Word states:
Isaiah 17:12 “[ Judgment against the Nations ] Ah! The roar of many peoples— they roar like the roaring of the seas. The raging of the nations— they rage like the raging of mighty waters.”
Food costs are continuing to rise to near 2008 levels, when price spikes in food and oil had devastating impacts on the poor, the development lender said, noting its numbers were released ahead of a Group of 20 finance chiefs meeting this week.
“Global food prices are rising to dangerous levels and threaten tens of millions of poor people around the world,” World Bank president Robert Zoellick said in a statement.
“The price hike is already pushing millions of people into poverty, and putting stress on the most vulnerable, who spend more than half of their income on food.”
According to the bank’s latest Food Price Watch, prices rose by 15 percent between October 2010 and January 2011.
Spiking food prices are pushing tens of millions of people throughout the globe into poverty, and threaten to spread unrest in the Middle East further afield to sub-Saharan Africa and Central Asia, according to the head of the World Bank, Robert Zoellick.
“I’m concerned that higher food prices add to stress points and could add to the fragility that is already and always there any time you have revolutions and transitions,” said Zoellick. “What I’m actually more concerned about is looking ahead. As you see, Egypt, Tunisia, Jordan, other societies, struggle to try to develop responses to these social and public pressures.”
in the months since June 2010, 44 million people have fallen into poverty as a direct result of increasing food prices, according to World Bank Vice President for Poverty Reduction Otaviano Canuto.
In fact, “the increase over the last quarter is driven largely by increases in the price of sugar (20 percent), fats and oils (22 percent), wheat (20 percent), and maize (12 percent),” wrote Canuto.
Food prices are just three percentage points under the 2008 peak that saw bread riots across the world — including the Middle East and North Africa.
Analysts are now concerned that spiking food prices will not only exacerbate poverty rates, but also stoke the fires of instability that have engulfed the Middle East.
